SAP Basis Consultant
We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Basis Consultant with deep expertise in S/4HANA architecture, system administration, and extensive experience in S/4HANA upgrades and migrations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing SAP system landscapes, ensuring system performance, and driving upgrade and migration projects across complex enterprise environments.
Job description and responsibilities
- Administer and maintain SAP system landscapes (SAP S/4HANA, ECC, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager).
- Plan, manage, and execute S/4HANA system upgrades, support packages, kernel upgrades, and system refreshes.
- Perform migrations to S/4HANA from ECC using tools like SUM (DMO), SWPM, and Maintenance Planner.
- Handle system copies, performance tuning, database administration, backups, and disaster recovery planning.
- Apply SAP OSS Notes, support packages, and patches in coordination with SAP.
- Monitor SAP systems using tools like SAP Solution Manager and third-party monitoring solutions.
- Work closely with functional and development teams to support ongoing projects and troubleshoot issues.
- Support high availability, system scalability, and business continuity strategies.
- Document upgrade paths, system changes, and technical procedures following ITIL processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP Basis administration.
- Strong hands-on experience in S/4HANA system implementation, upgrades, and migrations.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP architecture, HANA database, and Linux OS.
- Proficient in using SUM (Software Update Manager), SWPM, Maintenance Planner, and SPAM/SAINT tools.
- Experience in managing SAP on-premise and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of SAP security concepts, roles, and authorizations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance and connectivity issues.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
